waterproof
The waterproof function of a watch cannot be guaranteed to remain permanent. Avoid wearing a watch to take a hot water bath, sauna, etc; This may be affected by the aging of the waterproof rubber ring, or accidental impact on waterproof components such as the crown, buttons, and crystal mirror surface. As specified in the repair instructions, we recommend that you send the watch to the repair center once a year for testing of its waterproof function.
magnetic field
Watches should not be placed in contact or in areas with strong magnetic fields. When wearing a watch, if it comes into contact with objects such as an engine or electric motor with a strong magnetic field, or accidentally places it near a radio, television, sound system, magnet, etc., the watch will be magnetized by the magnetic field. After being magnetized, watches not only have inaccurate timing, but some even stop running. When encountering this situation, you should go to the maintenance station for demagnetization to restore the watch to normal.
Power storage (automatic)
>The movement will automatically chain up as the wearer’s wrist swings. Due to the direct impact of the wearer’s wrist swing on the operation of the automatic chain up mechanical system (pendulum), wearing it for 10 to 12 hours can help generate sufficient power storage to ensure the normal operation of the watch at night. Therefore, wristwatches should be worn for 10 to 12 hours per day (normal daily activities) and should continue to be worn for several days. If the watch is worn for insufficient time (not long enough or with insufficient wrist movement) or irregularly (not worn every day), power storage will continue to be depleted and manual chaining of the watch is required. The crown must be manually rotated 15 to 20 times to generate sufficient power storage to ensure the accuracy of the hour meter. Even if every new mechanical watch requires this simple procedure, it is also applicable to watches that are not regularly/regularly operated or worn. Please note that a common misconception is that simply shaking an automatic watch can generate enough kinetic energy to maintain accurate timing. However, this step is neither sufficient to chain the main spring nor to generate power storage, ultimately causing the watch to stop working or unable to accurately display the time.
Leather strap
1. Avoid contact with water and moisture to prevent discoloration and deformation. 2. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent fading. 3. Remember that leather has permeability! Avoid contact with oily substances and cosmetics. It is not advisable to use leather cleaner to clean your watch strap. If there are any issues with your leather strap, please contact an authorized DANIEL GORMAN dealer in a timely manner.
Case cleaning
Use a toothbrush and soapy water to clean the metal watch chain and all waterproof watch cases, and dry them with a soft cloth.
Glass
Mineral reinforced glass mirrors have a hardness of Mohs level 7, while sapphire glass mirrors have a hardness of Mohs level 9, exhibiting strong wear resistance. However, they also avoid friction with substances/mixtures with a hardness exceeding Mohs level 9, such as diamonds and diamond (corundum).
crown
Carefully tighten the watch crown to prevent water from seeping into the inside of the watch. If it is a non rotating crown: Press the crown back into its normal position to prevent water from seeping into the inside of the watch.
Adjustment button
Do not operate the adjustment button in water to prevent water from entering the watch mechanism.
chemical
Avoid direct contact between the watch and solvents, detergents, perfume and cosmetics, as they will erode the watch chain, case and gasket.
temperature
Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures (above 60 degrees Celsius or 140 degrees Fahrenheit, below 0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit) or extreme temperature differences.
impact
The watch has certain anti-collision protection, but it should still be avoided from falling and colliding to avoid waterproof failure, component damage, inaccurate travel time, and other faults.
save
After receiving the DANIEL GORMAN watch, please do not throw away the protective watch box. This box can provide the safest protection when not wearing it normally. Avoid damaging or colliding your watch, and it is recommended to wear it for a long time without wearing it. Develop the habit of cleaning the watch and placing it in a box, which can greatly reduce the chance of watch damage. When storing watches, desiccants can be placed in the protective box, but the use of chemicals such as camphor balls and insect repellents should be avoided. Mechanical watches that have been stored for a long time and are not worn should be regularly wound once a month to ensure that the parts do not remain stationary for a long time, in order to ensure the operational performance of the movement.
